Full-time Senior UI/UX Designer/Developer

at SocialFlow, Inc. (Anywhere)

We’re a seed-funded formerly double-secret-probation startup seeking an experienced UI Designer/Developer to define and implement the UI/UX for our web application.

We have a great virtual team (work from your home/office), and a very tight timeline. We need someone to take our product that looks pretty good and make it look great.

You Have:

- Strong, modern design, illustration and web typography skills; – Mastery of web standards and cross-browser solutions; – Knowledge of DOM scripting, event handling, AJAX implementation; – self-discipline, self-starter type with drive, heart and hustle; – Dedication to delivering on-time; – Experience working with early-stage startups; and a pattern of contributing good ideas – Experience creating views following MVC patterns; Template::Toolkit or any PHP would be helpful. – Abilities with Photoshop and/or Fireworks for producing and optimizing graphics for the Web; – Ability to tie in with a model / API service, controllers and the ability to know when to ask for enhancements; – Some (a working knowledge of) Perl or PHP scripting experience; – RoR experience is OK if you are willing to port the experience with the pattern to Catalyst – A demonstrable skillset with links that show your working code; – Work quickly and show turnaround with visual results – Top-tier UI Designer and Development expertise first and foremost

You Will:

- Design and enhance the front end and admin sections of our web app; – Do quite a bit of data visualization; – Work with Google’s Chart API – Translate your designs into standards-based xHTML/CSS; – Use Template::Toolkit templating system to create views; – Frequently use jQuery to enhance the user experience; – Analyze, diagnose and propose solutions to user problems. – Work directly with upper management in enhancing a product that already is in production and has paying clientele – Social APIs & Protocols (Facebook Connect, Twitter, OpenSocial, oAuth, etc.).

Experience in the following is helpful but not specifically required:

- MVC Perl web development like Catalyst or a PHP Framework like Cake – Experience with Template::Toolkit or other templating systems that live within an MVC pattern

This contract is a one month engagement, extendible to much longer or a salary position for the right candidate.
